Domestic Adoption

Sunshine State Adoption and Home Study Services is a not for profit, Florida state licensed adoption agency. Our home studies are recognized throughout the United States and in any court of law.

You will need a domestic home study if you are adopting a newborn infant, a child out of the foster care system or if you are adopting an embryo. Often relative adoptions require a home study. Most domestic home studies take less than 30 days.

A home study entails a visit to your home by a trained social worker to determine the readiness of both your family and your home atmosphere for placement of adopted child. The social worker will then prepare a written report with an adoption recommendation for the prospective parents for adopting a child.  Beyond the actual home study, our social workers will also counsel and assist you and you negotiate the paperwork process.
